Speake-Marin - Piccadilly

Peter Speake-Marin

Peter Speake-Marin (born 1968) first studied at London's Hackney Technical College and then later at the prestigious Swiss watch making school WOSTEP in Neuchatel. This was followed by seven years in the heart of London's Piccadilly, where he worked as a specialist in the restoration of highly collectable antique watches. This period gave him the opportunity to be in intimate contact, handling and restoring literally hundreds of horological treasures from the greatest watchmakers and houses in history. The inspiration and knowledge gleaned trom those treasures fired his desire to work and further his know-ledge of complicated mechanisms to an even higher level. Returning to Switzerland to work on modern watches he specialised in both the building and development of complicated mechanisms.

In 2000, after 15 years of study, he embarked on his personal dream; an independent workshop in which he could design and build his own watches.

His goal is to make watches which will stand the test of time. From the solid case contruction through the heavy enamel and gold dials, even the execution of the winding crown and tube have been designed to outlive their maker.

Every watch that leaves the Speak-Marin workshop is a tribute to the love Peter has for the art of watchmaking.
