At age fourteen, Vianney HALTER began his studies at the watchmaking school of Paris. He graduated in 1981, and soon after established himself as an independent craftsman.
During the first ten years he explored the horological field in restoring ancient clocks and watches. This brought him naturally to Switzerland.
Once established in Switzerland he imagined and realised unique timepieces for big names, such as Breguet, Audemars Piguet, Mauboussin, JaquetDroz and Franck Muller.
In 1994, Vianney HALTER founds his own company in SainteCroix in the Swiss Jura. It is the birth of Janvier SA, a small manufacture whose name is a tribute to one of the most gifted and talented watchmakers of the history, Antide Janvier (17511835).
The first collection christened Antiqua, and launched in 1998 at the Basle Fair, enabled the young manufacture to achieve an international reputation.
Since 2000, Vianney HALTER works together with the french designer Pascal Pagès to imagine new watches.
